The patio deck or terrace can be utilized as an outside living area or for entertainment and relaxing for the family and friends. Even leisure activities and a BBQ spot can be considered.
While designing and planning your patio or terrace area there are numerous alternatives to consider including the shape of the paver, the color, the material and pattern; and of course your preferred completed look.
Typically there are three paving patterns or styles for brick, concrete and stone pavers, but investigate the patters and styles to get an ideas and choose your favorite.

The Herringbone Pattern provides an exceptional interlock between pavers and it a popular and most widely used paving patter for Patios. The Herringbone is a brick, concrete or stone sequence laid either at a 45 or 90 degree angle, with every section rotating in a direction.
The Circle is a favorite design although it should be considered when planning since elements such as “curves” are harder to create.
The Basket Weave is also referred to as a checkerboard, which is a good way to explain how the pavers are laid. They can be designed to be level or at an angle. This pattern is an attention grabber and thus no wonder it is a popular choice.
The Stack Bond Pattern uses a stacking format where pavers are exactly on top of each other. The Running Bond pattern uses a similar format except that the pavers alternate and vary. For outdoor Patio spaces, the Running bond is mostly selected, where Stack Bond is a good option for a lot of foot traffic such as a walkway or pathway.
Random really gives you as much freedom and creativity as you desire. Mostly used to enhance patios, drive and walkways, the design utilizes four different pavers in order to create a bold statement.
